Princess Party

My sweet babies have birthday parties two weeks apart. One will be turning 3 tomorrow and the other will be 1 on the 26th. My three year old is obsessed with the Disney princesses. So we are having a princess themed party.

Over the past few weeks I have scoured Pintrest for anything Princess Party. There are loads of things there...... to buy. I didn't find anything free. So over the next few days I'm going to be making a bunch of stuff myself and I'm going to share it with you, my lovely friends. Hopefully you will be able to make use of my daughter deep desire for everything Princess. 

Tonight I decided to make photo booth props. Of course I made some mustaches, thanks to my silhouette. But I also found these absolutely ADORABLE princess hair designs when I clicked on the Pintrest link, as you do, it took me to an Etsy shop where one lovely lady was selling them for $45 buck a roos! Ummm no thank you. I got out some scrap paper drew up some templates and then transferred them over to some foam. It did take about 2 hours but man I man was it worth it! They turned out adorable! 

So, here are the templates for you so you can make them yourself. Please ignore all the scribbles it was a rough drawing. Also please only use these for Personal / Private use! If you make them or better them I'd love to see what you do!!

April Book Club Book - The Rent Collector

Sorry this post is a little late but as they say, better late than never.

This month my book club is reading The Rent Collector by Camron Wright. I have started it and am about 6 chapters in and so far I am really enjoying it. I will let you know my final thoughts when I am done.

Oreo Pudding Poke Cake

It's Friday night. At my home we will all need to unwind and why not do it whilst enjoying chocolate cake. We love us a good chocolate cake but when you poke holes all over that cake and then cover it with two boxes of Oreo cookie pudding and crushed Oreos on too of that well then we REALLY like chocolate cake 😊

Ingredients:
1 box chocolate cake and ingredients to make as directed
2 boxes instant Oreo pudding mix
4 cups milk
Crushed up Oreos

Directions:
Make cake according to directions on back of the box. Bake according to those same directions. Once completely cooked use the handle of a wooden spoon to poke holes all over your cake. And set aside.

Mix the Oreo pudding with 4 cups of cold milk until it sets up. Pour over the top of you cake making sure to cover every hole. Then cover with crushed up Oreo cookies. Serve straight away or if you can control the urge to eat it then you can refrigerate it until your ready to eat.

I know right sounds like an awesome read. Im already two chapters in and am really enjoying it. Along with the fact that I am catching myself doing so many of the things it says not to.... Whoops.

Need a Good Book to Read?

Is it just me or is it getting harder and harder to find a decent book to read these days? I find most adult books are filled with profanity, sex and violence. Not really things I'm wanting to read.

I started a book club here in TX (OK I've really started three book clubs the one here as well as one in Chorley, England and one in Tamworth, England too what can I say? I enjoy book clubs :) and we have really read some amazing books. I thought that I would share a list of some of the books we have read. Then each month I will post the book we are currently reading in case any of you wish to read along.

Prayer Blocks

I decided to get extra crafty this week and on Tuesday I did two crafts. Here is the first.... Prayer Blocks.

I bought this dresser the other day for CHEAP!! It was ugh!! Cracks in the paint chips in the wood, but it had potential. So I refinished it and then needed something to go on top. I bought a few things but it didn't feel quiet complete so I made these prayer blocks.

The top block is a 5"x5" square and the bottom are 5"x7" I just covered them with scrap booking paper, sanded it all down and then cute the words out on my silhouette. I really love it. I love the saying especially.

Chicken Enchilada Soup

The other day I found myself talking to a few friends about dinners. You know the general "what are you making" conversation, when two of my friends stated their husbands don't consider soup as a dinner. I was kinda like wha...? How could you go a whole winter without making a single soup? In our home we have soup at least one a week in the winter. Today was one of those days. Tonight we had Chicken Enchilada soup for dinner. Lucky for me my wonderful hubby doesn't mind soup.

While at Target looking for a few ingredients I knew I was missing for tonight's dinner I decided to look up the recipe here just to make sure I knew what I was looking for. I couldn't find it and thought have I really not posted this recipe? So I could be completely mistaken and might someday find it on here twice, but in case it really isn't on here I'm sharing it. It's so simple. A throw everything in the crockpot recipe. Those are definitely my favorite. Enjoy!!

Ingredients:

1 15-ounce can black beans, rinsed and drained

1 14.5-ounce can diced tomatoes

1 10-ounce package frozen whole kernel corn

1 chopped onion

1chopped yellow, green, or red bell pepper

1 10-ounce can enchilada sauce

1 10.75-ounce can condensed cream of chicken soup

1½ cups milk

1 cup shredded Pepper jack cheese

2 chicken breasts

Instructions:

In a 3½ to 5 quart slow cooker, combine drained beans, tomatoes, corn, onion, and bell pepper. Place 2 chicken breasts on top of mixture.

In a large bowl, whisk together enchilada sauce and soup. Gradually whisk in milk until smooth. Pour sauce mixture over ingredients in cooker.Cover; cook on low heat for 6 to 8 hours or on high for 3 to 4 hours.

Remove chicken and cut or shred into bite sized pieces. Add chicken back into soup.
Top with pepper jack cheese and serve.

Can also be topped with avocado, sour cream, or crushed tortilla chips.

Valentines Day Board

Valentines Day is quickly approaching and as I took my Christmas decorations down I realized that I had no Valentines Day decorations. So I decided to invite some friends around and start crafting. Today I made this Valentines Board. All I did was buy a board at Lowes, cut it to the size I wanted, sanded it down and then painted it a deep red. Finally I cut the words I wanted out on my silhouette and put them in the board. Easy peasy! And so much fun. If you have questions left me know. I would say this cost me about $6 for everything.
